Allow us to introduce one of our favourite bands and patrons, The Sherlocks. With their third album, ‘World I Understand’, expected to take the country’s gig venues and the charts by storm, we thought it was a great time to get you acquainted with the band…
Where are The Sherlocks from?
The Sherlocks are a four-piece band from Barnsley in South Yorkshire, consisting of Kiaran Crook, Brandon Crook, Alex Proctor and Trent Jackson.
Alex and Trent are new to the fold, having joined just before the band recorded World I Understand, which was made at the iconic Rockfield studios in Wales. Rockfield has seen many legendary bands record there in the past, such as Queen, Oasis and The Stone Roses.
The band released their first album, ‘Live for the Moment’, in 2017 and their second album, ‘Under Your Sky’, in 2019.
As well as selling out tours themselves, The Sherlocks have supported some massive bands, including fellow Yorkshiremen, Kaiser Chiefs, at Elland Road, and Kings of Leon in arena shows in Manchester and Sheffield.
What can we expect from the new album?
Having recorded the album at Rockfield with Dave Eringa, who has worked with the likes of Manic Street Preachers and Ocean Colour Scene, the band have returned to a more guitar-driven sound, remarking: “We wanted to go back to the crunchy guitars of our early days, so we thought of Dave straight away.”
The band have already released three singles from ‘World I Understand’:
- ‘City Lights’ – a rousing rock song that builds to a huge crescendo of a chorus that’s sure to become a fan favourite as the band head out on tour.
- ‘Falling’ – high-tempo, big guitar sounds and catchy lyrics. All the ingredients of a classic indie rock song.
- ‘World I Understand’ – the album’s title song, an energetic alt-rock song.

How to dress like The Sherlocks
British indie bands have always had a certain look – skinny jeans, trainers, a polo shirt and a jacket, typically a Harrington, parka or anorak. The Sherlocks fit firmly into this camp, picking understated colourways of timeless silhouettes, establishing themselves as indie fashion experts.
We’re proud to say that The Sherlocks are big fans of our clothing, particularly our Archive collection, which has become a go-to for fashion-conscious artists and bands all over the world.
