Wear it your way - Ari

It started with an oil-stained jumper and a head full of ideas. Ari, a London-based mechanic with a calm presence and relentless work ethic, didn’t expect to end up in front of the camera. Yet there he was boots on, grease on his hands, light from the garage roof catching the Lyle & Scott quarter zip under his coveralls, baseball cap pulled low. It fit. Naturally.

The goal was simple: capture Ari where he’s most himself — on the garage floor, socket wrench in hand, surrounded by the clang of tools and the quiet focus of honest work. No pretence. No staging. Just a style that fits into the life being lived.

We met Ari through friends of the brand who knew his story and his presence. Watching him work, it’s clear—he moves with calm confidence, the kind that only comes from repetition, from care. "Most people think it’s just fixing cars," he says, wiping his hands between takes. "But really, it’s about solving problems. Every car’s different."

That ethos, craft and care, mirrors our own at Lyle & Scott. Practical pieces with character. Designed to work hard but never shout. Ari wears them just like that: with ease.

The shoot unfolded across one day. Inside and outside the garage, across spilt oil and dusty light. The visuals are stripped back and textured. Clean cuts against concrete and rust. It felt honest.

Each frame caught Ari’s quiet charisma. Whether leaning against a van or crouched under a hood, nothing was forced. He wasn’t performing. He was just being.

"You wear what works," he shrugs. "And if it looks good, that’s a bonus." There’s intention in how he wears each piece—the layered quarter zip, the worn-in cap. Nothing was added for the show.

This shoot wasn’t about product placement. It was about Ari. A real person, doing real work. And the clothes being part of that story. Lyle & Scott has always lived in the space between form and function. With Ari, we found someone who does too. If you want to see what that looks like, you’ll find it under the hood. Or better yet just ask him.

“Ari represents a kind of style we don’t see enough modern, grounded, working-class elegance. That’s why we chose him. There’s no filter, no front. Just someone who knows his craft and carries himself with quiet pride.”
