Join the Team

As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing all purchases made by the company (£30m per annum). Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, you will have ownership over the company procurement process to ensure that the best value for money is obtained to support our continued growth and success. The successful candidate will have an inquisitive and challenging attitude and should not be afraid of challenging the status quo.

You will be in direct contact with all stakeholders of the business so excellent interpersonal skills are a must. You will also be comfortable communicating with colleagues of all levels.

Experience is useful but not essential as your passion, drive and personality will ultimately determine your success. In return you will be afforded the chance to learn and develop your skillset at a very fast pace.

In addition, the Purchase Ledger role generally assists the accounts department as necessary, providing any information required by the Management Accountant.

Key Tasks:

Month end:

  • Process invoices & reconciling to purchase orders
  • Set up new supplier accounts
  • Monthly reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Ensure missing invoices are requested and processed promptly and affectively
  • Maintaining strong relationships with suppliers
  • Process business expense claims
  • Process business credit cards
  • Processing BACS payments
  • Filing invoices
  • First point of contact for all relevant enquiries

Year-end:

  • Assisting the Management Accountant with preparation of the year end audit and tax pack

Other:

  • Training purchase order requisitioner’s and resolving any ongoing queries.
  • Assisting with monthly and quarterly VAT return

As a licensing Manager we want you to have the passion in creating, building and maintaining the L&S licence business in line with our 5 year plan and engage partners to the great “Lyle & Scott DNA” that works in cooperation with L&S’s existing global business and widely appeals to the many different distribution segments available within the licenced business globally.

We have an exciting role to join our growing Retail team as our Retail Manager. Retail is a growing revenue stream for us as a Brand and we want this new role to help facilitate our expanding portfolio.

As our Retail Manager you will have full accountability and responsibility for driving performance verses budget optimising all retail stores operationally via exceptional stock management, staffing, leadership and visual display within all retail channels always. The role will require a high level of leadership, training and communication between the wider retail team and supporting functions to drive trade performance and grow the department.

Contract role for one year. Potential to move to permanent role, or a project completion fee will be paid at the end of the year contract.

The purpose of this role is to support in the production of financial information for wider business analysis and support financial control to ensure the day to day operations of the Finance team are effective and appropriate to meet the business needs for all information users. To assist in the timely preparation of financial information to allow the Finance team to delight the business and provide quick considered responses on all matters. Management of budgetary process and providing analysis against budget in support of the business partnering objective. To drive the team forward on best practice of both operational activities and control environment to assist the achievement of the team goal of a “world class finance function”.

To ensure that good practice is maintained throughout the team and to ensure that all regulatory information is submitted in a timely manner in adherence to deadlines. To provide support to the Management Accountant and Finance & Innovation Director in achieving the team objectives and undertaking ad hoc work as required.

Commercial/Financial

  • To assist in developing a world class finance function, fully operational and delivering at all times.
  • Support accountability and responsibility for the directorate budgets, ensuring that headcount and flexible spend deliver against budget
  • Support preparation of the financial ledgers to Trial Balance level, ensuring that good practice is undertaken and reconciliations of each cycle are performed and accurate.
  • Support preparation of the monthly board reporting pack in a timely manner and identification & understanding of material variances and developing trends.
  • Preparation of detailed analytical work to ensure that the Director of Finance and Directorates are versed in the activities within each area to improve understanding of the wider business.
  • Support on the annual budget for review and maintenance of the planned re-forecasts during the year.
  • Provide overview function to the financial cycles to ensure the correct level of “checks and balances” are in place, operational and effective.
  • Work with Directorates to ensure that our maximum long term “financial effectiveness” is achieved.
  • Any adhoc tasks as required by the Director of Finance.

Systems Development/Delivery

  • Automate (Financial) systems to manage and influence the business towards becoming a better partner to its customers, suppliers, employees, business partners and stakeholders.
  • Escalate/manage (Financial) systems so that (Financial) issues and risks that will impact the business are easily highlighted to the Director of Finance.
  • Ensure that the Finance team are as one with IT and systems as a matter of course and continuously use your system skills to maximise efficiencies and quality/timeliness of information.

Regulatory Work

  • Undertaking all regulatory work of the department including quarterly VAT return submissions and monthly EC sales list and Intrastat returns.
  • Manage the submission of foreign country VAT return submissions by ensuring the information is passed in a timeous manner and that the payments are accurately recorded on the financial ledgers
