We are looking for someone to provide exceptional HR support to the Lyle and Scott business. As a Purchase Ledger Clerk, you will be primarily responsible for overseeing all purchases made by the company (£30m per annum). Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, you will have ownership over the company procurement process to ensure that the best value for money is obtained to support our continued growth and success. The successful candidate will have an inquisitive and challenging attitude and should not be afraid of challenging the status quo.

You will be in direct contact with all stakeholders of the business so excellent interpersonal skills are a must. You will also be comfortable communicating with colleagues of all levels.

Experience is useful but not essential as your passion, drive and personality will ultimately determine your success. In return you will be afforded the chance to learn and develop your skillset at a very fast pace.

In addition, the Purchase Ledger role generally assists the accounts department as necessary, providing any information required by the Management Accountant.

Month end:

  • Process invoices & reconciling to purchase orders
  • Set up new supplier accounts

Year-end:

We are looking for a Junior Designer to join our growing Vintage team. At Lyle & Scott we look for individuals who are passionate about delivering a strong product to our customers, and you will be key to ensuring this.

Your role will include;

  • Involvement in the full product process from concept through to sampling
  • Ensure key milestones and deadlines are met in line with the seasonal and company critical path
  • Create and maintain accurate tech packs to guide the supply base in sampling & production
  • Ensure department visual overviews are kept updated and accurate at all times

The ideal candidate would have a good awareness of fashion and trends with a commercial point of view. An eye for shape, colour, materials and trims. As well as, strong drawing skills & working knowledge of Illustrator and excel.

Contract role for one year. Potential to move to permanent role, or a project completion fee will be paid at the end of the year contract.

The purpose of this role is to support in the production of financial information for wider business analysis and support financial control to ensure the day to day operations of the Finance team are effective and appropriate to meet the business needs for all information users. To assist in the timely preparation of financial information to allow the Finance team to delight the business and provide quick considered responses on all matters. Management of budgetary process and providing analysis against budget in support of the business partnering objective. To drive the team forward on best practice of both operational activities and control environment to assist the achievement of the team goal of a “world class finance function”.

To ensure that good practice is maintained throughout the team and to ensure that all regulatory information is submitted in a timely manner in adherence to deadlines. To provide support to the Management Accountant and Finance & Innovation Director in achieving the team objectives and undertaking ad hoc work as required.

Commercial/Financial

  • To assist in developing a world class finance function, fully operational and delivering at all times.
  • Support accountability and responsibility for the directorate budgets, ensuring that headcount and flexible spend deliver against budget
  • Support preparation of the financial ledgers to Trial Balance level, ensuring that good practice is undertaken and reconciliations of each cycle are performed and accurate.
  • Support preparation of the monthly board reporting pack in a timely manner and identification & understanding of material variances and developing trends.
  • Preparation of detailed analytical work to ensure that the Director of Finance and Directorates are versed in the activities within each area to improve understanding of the wider business.
  • Support on the annual budget for review and maintenance of the planned re-forecasts during the year.
  • Provide overview function to the financial cycles to ensure the correct level of “checks and balances” are in place, operational and effective.
  • Work with Directorates to ensure that our maximum long term “financial effectiveness” is achieved.
  • Any adhoc tasks as required by the Director of Finance.

Systems Development/Delivery

  • Automate (Financial) systems to manage and influence the business towards becoming a better partner to its customers, suppliers, employees, business partners and stakeholders.
  • Escalate/manage (Financial) systems so that (Financial) issues and risks that will impact the business are easily highlighted to the Director of Finance.
  • Ensure that the Finance team are as one with IT and systems as a matter of course and continuously use your system skills to maximise efficiencies and quality/timeliness of information.

Regulatory Work

  • Undertaking all regulatory work of the department including quarterly VAT return submissions and monthly EC sales list and Intrastat returns.
  • Manage the submission of foreign country VAT return submissions by ensuring the information is passed in a timeous manner and that the payments are accurately recorded on the financial ledgers

As our Cartoonist (or Visual Brief Generator, if you prefer a more generic title!), you will be responsible for creating design briefs during meetings with our wholesale customers, Key Accounts and franchisees.

You will enable the free flow of design and marketing ideas between L&S and our customers during meetings, eliminating the back-and-forths that usually occur following a design brief, ensuring the customer leaves excited about the next steps of the project.

Graphic design experience is desirable but not essential, however, you must be able to sketch to a high standard. Some examples of what you will be required to sketch during customer meetings, include:

  • POS
  • Marketing campaign ideas
  • Product

As a Wholesale Assistant Merchandiser you will operate at the heart of the business communicating with suppliers, product teams, sales teams and the wider operations function to help ensure that stock levels are optimized for efficient maximization of sales, margin and profit and that pertinent and accurate information is available to drive success. Information accuracy, efficient working as well as excellent communication skills will be key to the success of this role.

  • Ensure optimum accuracy and integrity of all information at all times.
  • Maintain seasonal range information and create and communicate range information, pricelists and order sheets.
  • Maintain accurate system information on Planning and Production-specific product data, pricing and delivery windows and reports.
  • Provide administrative support to the Planning and Production department.
  • Analyse stock availability and identifying action required to ensure delivery to customer on time and in full.
  • Create seasonal range and sales analysis.
  • Create, maintain and publish weekly and month company reporting relating to stock and sales (e.g. bestsellers, slow movers, stock lists)
  • Confirm order deadlines with suppliers
  • Break buy quantities down to size level and agree order quantities with suppliers
  • Monitor stock levels

The ideal candidate would have at least 1 years’ experience in as an Assistant Merchandiser or +1 years’ as an Senior Merchandising Administrator & ready to move on to the next level. Wholesale experience is preferable.
