Lyle & Scott x Oi Polloi:
A Mohair Match Made in Golf Club Heaven

When we linked back up with Oi Polloi for our latest collaboration, the idea was simple: take something classic and give it a bit of a shake. Not for the sake of change, but to find something new in what we already knew. We’ve done heritage. We’ve done knitwear. But we’d never done mohair like this.
It all started when the team at Oi Polloi dove into our archive, digging out old golf sweaters from the days when Argyle ruled the fairways. But instead of playing it straight, they saw an opportunity to do something unexpected. “What if,” they asked, “we took those oversized, patterned knits and filtered them through something rawer, more street, more us?” We were in.

Oi Polloi has always had that magic touch, able to nod to the past without being stuck in it. They’ve got that Northern charm, the kind that blends pragmatism with style. We knew whatever they’d bring to the table would feel lived-in and effortlessly cool.
The result is a cardigan that sits somewhere between a grunge gig in a freezing student union and a Sunday morning tee time on the edge of the Highlands. Slouchy, soft, bold in all the right places, but with the sort of understated finish that makes it feel familiar, even if you’ve never worn mohair before in your life.
We leaned into texture on this one. The brushed mohair blend gives that haloed effect, fuzzy, warm, and inviting. It’s the sort of piece you throw on without thinking and wear to death. Oversized argyle patterns bring that vintage sportswear heritage we’re known for, but reimagined for today, not stuck in some sepia-toned nostalgia. Its heritage was reworked, not reissued.

Personally, this one hit close to home. We’ve made a lot of knitwear in our time. We’ve watched trends come and go. But this collaboration feels different. It’s not just about looking good, it’s about a feeling. That carefree confidence. That sense of mischief. The idea is that you can take something rooted in tradition and wear it your way.
