Collage Culture and Personal Style with Corbin Shaw

When we sat down to reimagine what a modern-day Lyle & Scott x Urban Outfitters collection might look like, we didn’t start with moodboards or samples, we started with a feeling. One rooted in nostalgia, but defiant in its forward momentum. One that pulls from the DIY energy of bedroom walls covered in photocopied fanzines and the personal flair of vintage sportswear pulled from second-hand rails. That’s where Corbin Shaw came in.

Corbin isn’t just a face for this photoshoot, he’s the whole tone. Artist, creator, and Northern romantic. A bloke who wears his heart on his sleeve and a pair of gold hoops in his ears. His world is one stitched together from fragments of working-class pride, teenage angst, and pub politics. So, it made sense that we didn’t shoot this campaign in a polished studio or on a tidy backdrop. We cut it up. Literally.

Shot through a lens of collage, ripped, woven, layered, Corbin’s images bring texture to a collection that’s all about identity, distortion, and self-expression. Lyle & Scott’s iconic golden eagle sits comfortably next to ribbed knits, retro track jackets, and deep V-necks layered over striped polos. These aren’t museum pieces. They’re clothes to live in, to move through, to make yours.

We wanted this collaboration with Urban Outfitters to feel like opening a box of memories you’d long forgotten: the old photos, the vintage Adidas, the ring from that night you can’t remember but also couldn’t forget. The collection holds space for all of that. Its varsity meets ladcore. Preppy but purposefully undone. Like a school uniform worn out and reimagined under your own rules.

There’s something about seeing your own culture refracted back at you through a modern lens. The ripped pages, the fragmented faces, the DIY visuals, they speak to the multiplicity of now. The idea that none of us are just one thing. That what we wear says more about who we are becoming than who we were. That contradiction can be styled, and vulnerability can be power.

Corbin brought all of that. We just dressed it.

Lyle & Scott x Urban Outfitters isn’t just a collaboration. It’s a visual diary. One that celebrates the joy of making yourself up as you go along. Because style, real style isn't about getting it right. It’s about showing up as yourself, even when you’re not quite sure who that is yet.

So here’s to the scrappy, the sentimental, the stylishly unpolished. We see you. And we made this for you.
