Cuts and fabrics

A tapered cargo keeps the pocket detail but narrows below the knee. A relaxed or straight cut sits closer to the original and pairs with the relaxed clothing range. Ripstop is lighter and more tear resistant; twill has more body and holds a crease.

Pockets, pairing and sizing

Flat or bellows pockets set slightly to the side sit better and add less width at the thigh. Keep the top half plain, with a t-shirt, sweatshirt or overshirt. These usually sit slightly roomier than a chino in the same waist. See cargo shorts.
