An overshirt sits between a shirt and a jacket, in a fabric heavy enough to hold structure and block a breeze.
Fabrics
Brushed cotton, twill, corduroy and wool blends all appear. Some styles are quilted or lined, which takes them further towards a light jacket.
How to wear and fit
Worn over a t-shirt or a crew neck jumper, or under a puffer jacket in winter as a mid layer with a collar. Size roomier than a shirt so it fastens over a jumper, with a hem finishing at the hip. See flannel shirts for something lighter and lightweight jackets for more weather protection.
